Holy Moose!
Lots of Moose sightings this week!
27.08.2009 - 27.08.2009 31 °C
Went to Noras for a nice breakfast and then decided to go for a hike looking for wild huckleberries.

The hike was hard work as it was very very hot (31 C) and we were going uphill... my poor wee legs.
Which made it even better was that Jeff told me to make noise as there were bears and mountain lions in that area!!!
We were about 75% to the destination when we decided that we had not seen any berries at all and that it was probably too late in the season for then, so we turned back. I was happily snapping pictures of the flowers and the mountains peeping through the trees when Jeff told me to "STOP". I had my head down switching off the camera and when I looked up I saw a big brown shape at the other side of the tree I was near. I was lost for words and frozen to the stop wondering if it was a bear or a moose or what! Jeff caught up with me and the shape put its head up and looked at us... it was a moose but that did not mean we were safe by any means. He looked pretty young and did not have a rack so maybe he would be a little unpredictable. He continued to eat the bush he was munching on then casually strolled up the hill looking at us all the time. We walked slowly past him but my leg was shaking like mad ha ha!

After getting back to the car we went to Dornans at Moose for an ice cream and to post some postcards and we saw yet another moose! This one was under the bridge and did have a big rack but the hordes of snap happy tourists walking up the bank of the river but we got a few pictures of him from the safety of the bridge this time.

In the evening we went to the Wort for dinner where we both had pork but Jeffs was better than mine ![]()
